There are many different qualifications that surgeons can acquire that make them the kind of surgeon that you want to have performing your plastic surgery.  It is important to make sure that they are registered with the General Medical Council, this can be done online and by telephone.

Surgeon who have the letters FRCS (Plast) after their name are qualified to the level of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and have completed specialist tests in plastic surgery.  They are therefore qualified to perform all manner of cosmetic surgery procedures.  There are other specialists areas that are appropriate to particular areas of cosmetic surgery.
